Self-proclaimed Messiah Eliud Wekesa alias ‘Yesu Wa Tongaren’ was today forced to defend himself after a section of believers stormed his house ready to crucify him.
While addressing the media on Friday, April 7, 2023, Wekesa noted that he was forced to incorporate biblical teachings in order to disperse the individuals armed with a wooden cross and nails ready to crucify him.
He stated that his faith acknowledged that the Easter holiday fell in July, unlike that of the Christian calendar where Easter is held in April.
I heard some people in my Lukhokhwe Village neighbourhood saying I should be crucified, just like Jesus Christ. Some of them even came to my homestead carrying a hammer and six-inch nails. I prayed and they had an immediate change of mind and went back,” he stated
Loosely translates to: “I celebrate my Easter in July. At that time we observe the holiday in accordance with the teachings from the Book of Exodus 12: 21-28,” he said.
Nimewaonya wafuasi wangu kulingana na hii Pasaka (The Word says we should be cautious to avoid copying Western cultures; I have cautioned my followers in regard to this Easter”
While calling out the locals, the cleric further stated that his teachings and title as the Messiah were true and urged believers not to doubt his calling.
He also warned that those who doubted him would subject themselves to dire consequences a case similar to that of Noah in the Bible.
