While confirming the incident, Mwingi central sub-county police commander Peter Mutuma noted that the body of Joseph Kiteme was found facing upwards with b***d oozing from his nose and mouth.

He also noted that the deceased had complained of chest pains.

“The deceased had been complaining of chest pains before his demise,” Mutuma said.

His family led by his brother Morris Muema condemned the manner in which their kin died and called on the police to take swift action

Muema also noted that he had made plans to rush his brother to the hospital for treatment after his health deteriorated.

“It means there is a lot of insecurity in Mwingi because I fail to understand how my brother was m******d in the middle of town,” he claimed.

The latest comes barely two weeks after a 23-year-old man was found dead after allegedly falling off an apartment in Kasarani, Nairobi.

Blair Muthomi was found lying on the floor by the apartment’s owner Joseph Macharia.

Macharia rushed him to the hospital but he was pronounced dead on arrival.

His family called on police officers to investigate as they wondered whether he was pushed or fell.
