He says the leaders planned the attacks on account that Uhuru was financing the ongoing Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya coalition demos.

“It must not be lost on Kenyans that the incursion was preceded by incitement remarks recently made by a section of politicians against former President Uhuru Kenyatta on account that he is covertly financing the ongoing mass action organized by the Azimio Coalition,” the statement reads in parts.

Wainaina called out the politicians aforementioned noting that they should stop using the retired H**d of State to divert public attention whenever serious concerns are addressed.

“We urge politicians to stop using former President Uhuru Kenyatta as a bogeyman to divert public attention whenever serious concerns are raised over the cost of living; implementation of austerity measures to cut down extravagant public expenditure, and equitable distribution of national resources and opportunities,” he stated.

He also wondered if the property owned by ordinary Kenyans were safe if the former H**d of State’s property was attacked.

“If the property of the family of the former president can be invaded in broad daylight with no police response, what about the property of the common Kenyan?” he posed.

We wish to condemn the invasion of the Northlands Estate in Ruiru, Kiambu County yesterday by a group of young p****e and the subsequent destruction and wanton looting witnessed within the property.

While affirming that it was wrong to use the ongoing Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya demos to settle scores by destroying property the SG further called on relevant authorities to take up the matter and prosecute individuals who participated in the attacks.

“KANU finds this trend very disturbing and calls on the relevant authorities to immediately institute measures to arrest and prosecute individuals who took part in the invasion. We cannot use the on-going protests by Azimio as an excuse to justify invasion of private property,” the statement added.

Goons invaded Uhuru’s property, cut down trees and made away with livestock before setting the property on fire.

Several leaders have come out to condemn the incident and called on relevant authorities to arrest and prosecute those found g****y.
