Over 120 companies have been dissolved and their names struck off from the countries’ register of companies.
Before dissolution, the Registrar of Companies issues a three-month notice in according to section 897 (3) of the Companies Act. This Act provides that the Registrar shall, if satisfied that the company has ceased to carry on business and has no assets, strike the company off the register.
“Pursuant to section 897 (4) of the Companies Act, it is notified for the information of the general public that the following companies are dissolved and their names have been struck off the Register of Companies, with effect from the date of publication of this notice,” Joyce Koech announced in the Kenya Gazette notice.
They include African Business Movers Express Cargo Limited, Amhealth Kenya Limited, Beby Boomers Enterprises Limited, Double Click Consulting Kenya Limited, Empire Fitness Centre Limited, Korninvest -Lounge Zero Thirty-Six Limited and Mwag Global International Limited.
Others include Rayfa Construction Limited, Salabani Chemist Limited, Strategic Enterpreneurs Limited, Shift South Kenya Limited, Amaya Lifestyle Limited and Bazik Properties Limited among others.
Besides the dissolution, the Registrar of Companies has also listed over 100 firms which are intended for dissolution.
In the gazette notice, Joyce Koech has asked the owners of the companies to show cause why they should not be closed down within three months.
“Pursuant to section 897 (3) of the Companies Act, the Registrar of Companies gives notice that the names of the companies specified hereunder shall be struck off from the Register of Companies at the expiry of three (3) months from the date of publication of this notice, and invites any person to show cause why the companies should not be struck off from the Register of Companies.”
