Nyandarua Governor Moses Kiarie Badilisha has called on the National Government to allocate funding for the completion of the JM Complex Hospital, a transformative project set to revolutionize healthcare in the county.
Speaking during a site visit, Governor Badilisha revealed that the county government has already invested nearly Ksh 1 billion in the facility, with the total cost projected to exceed Ksh 1.5 billion emphasizing the urgent need for additional support to finalize the project.
Once finished, the complex will significantly enhance healthcare services in Nyandarua, providing a Level 6 hospital that will reduce the need for residents to travel long distances for specialized medical care, easing both the logistical and financial burdens on the community.
The JM Complex Hospital is also expected to serve not only Nyandarua County but also neighboring regions, cementing its role as a vital healthcare hub in the central and Rift Valley regions.
Governor Badilisha called on stakeholders to join hands in ensuring the project reaches its fruition, stating that such partnerships are crucial for advancing healthcare services in the county.
Once complete the five-storey complex will have a 500-bed capacity with a 144-bed mother and child unit, an additional Intensive Care Unit (ICU) with 12 fully equipped beds, a 10-bed High Dependency Unit (HDU), three operating theatres and a 48-bed casualty ward.
