In a statement released on Monday, July 15, 2024, Kenya Airways flagged the advertisement as fake and clarified that the advertisement did not originate from them.
“Please be aware that the message circulating on social media regarding job openings at Kenya Airways is FAKE and did not come from us. For accurate hiring information, always refer to our official website and channels,” Kenya Airways stated.
The fake job ad claimed that Kenya Airways is urgently seeking to fill several positions, including airline food service, flight attendant, receptionist, booking clerk, and security officer.
It provided a list of key responsibilities for each role and requested applicants to send their CVs to infokenyaairways@gmail.com before July 21, 2024.
The fraudulent advertisement outlined various responsibilities for each role, such as preparing and serving meals, welcoming visitors, and ensuring security.
It also listed the qualifications and experience required for the positions, including a minimum of “O” Level (D+), computer skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Candidates were promised a net salary of Ksh45,000 to Ksh60,000, negotiable after a three-month probation period. The fake ad specified that only shortlisted candidates would be contacted.
Kenya Airways urged the public to disregard this false advertisement and always verify job postings through official channels to avoid falling victim to scams.
