Kenya’s Delta eSports fell with heads held high after a narrow 1-2 loss to Nigeria’s Sierra 7 in a thrilling Carry1st Africa Cup Group A clash. The nail-biting match saw Sierra 7 narrowly avoid elimination.

Sierra 7 dominated the first map, winning 250-186, but the Kenyans, led by captain Michael, staged a remarkable comeback in the Search and Destroy phase, hitting the 7-point target with precision and leaving the Nigerians on edge.

On the Control map in Raid, Delta eSports showed clear intent to secure a win in their first series of the Grand Finals. However, Sierra 7, fully aware of the stakes, fought tooth and nail to deny them victory.

The final showdown of the series between Delta eSports and Sierra 7 went down to the wire, with the Nigerians clinching a narrow 3-2 victory on the last map.

Sierra 7’s captain, Virus, who played a pivotal role in their win, admitted the pressure was overwhelming.

“I’m actually still shaking,” he confessed in a post-match interview.

Despite the loss, Delta eSports, represented by Michael, Twix, Miheso, Storm, and Breaker, remain optimistic about their chances of reaching the Grand Finals scheduled for Sunday, November 24, 2024.

“I tried my best in every round but I think that these guys were a better team so kudos to cheers to them,” Michael remarked, adding confidently, “Oh yeah sure, definitely,” in reference to winning their next match.
