The Kenya Meteorological Department has issued a five-day weather forecast starting from Wednesday, October 2, 2024, to Sunday, October 7, 2024.
“Rainfall is expected to continue over some parts of the country most notably the Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, the Rift Valley and the Coast. The rest of the country is likely to be generally sunny and dry,” the Kenya Met stated.
The counties within this jurisdiction include Siaya, Kisumu, Homabay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira, Trans Nzoia, Baringo, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo-Marakwet, Nandi, Nakuru, Narok, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Busia and West Pokot Counties.
Counties in the North-western including Turkana and Samburu are set to experience rainfall in the morning for the next five days.
The counties include Nairobi, Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, and Tharaka.
Residents of these counties are expected to experience extreme cold conditions, with the weatherman predicting minimum temperatures to hit 7 degrees Celsius.
According to Kenya Met’s general outlook, the coastal counties of Mombasa, Tana River, Kilifi, Lamu, and Kwale will not receive rainfall in the next five days.
Counties within the south-eastern lowlands and northeastern are expected to experience almost similar weather conditions.
South-eastern lowlands ( Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa and Isiolo Kitui), Northeastern Makueni, Machakos, Kajiado and Taita Taveta.
