Kenya Power has announced a scheduled power outage set for Friday, August 2, 2024, that will affect four counties across Kenya.

The outage is planned for maintenance purposes, with different regions experiencing temporary power cuts throughout the day.

In a statement on its official website, Kenya Power said, “Notice is hereby given under Rule 27 of the Electric Power Rules that the electricity supply will be interrupted as follows: (Periodic interruptions are necessary to facilitate maintenance and upgrades of power lines, connect new customers, or replace power lines during construction, etc.).”

The temporary outage is expected to have a significant impact on various sectors and daily activities in these areas.

Area: Part of Mombasa Road

Time: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm

Places affected: Part of Sultan town, Sultan Police, Holy Ghost Schs, Kalimbini, Ngokomi, Kwothithu, Kiongwani, Kima, Kiu, Salama, Kautandini, Malili, Enzai, Nunguni, Kilungu, Kavatanzou, Mitini, Kyambeke & adjacent customers.

Area: Ibacho, Riamakanda

Time: 9:00 am – 4:00 pm

Places affected: Mobamba Sec, Moremani Sec & Mkt, Ibacho Mkt, Nyankononi Pri, Nyamagega COG Sec, Ibacho H/Centre, Ibacho Sec, Ibacho Mkt, Riamakanda Pri, Gesabakwa Pri & adjacent customers.

Area: Oodi Beach, Agolo Muok

Time: 9:00 am – 4:00 pm

Places affected:  St. Camillus, Agolomuok, Seka, Ongongo, God Oloo Safaricom Booster, Oodi Beach, Koga, Otati, Oodi Beach & adjacent customers.

Area: Misambi, Othoro

Time: 9:00 am – 4:00 pm

Places affected: Part of Kadongo Mkt, Misambi Mkt, Wangapala Booster & Sec, Oriang Polytechnic, Bishop Linux Okok Girls Sch, Nyapalo Mkt, Othoro Mkt, Kodada Mkt, Pala C/Fact, Atela Dispensary & adjacent customers.

Area: Lwanda Magwar

Time: 9:00 am – 4:00 pm

Places affected: Parts of Osiri, Osiri Gold Mine, Lwanda Magwar, Parts of Sori, Ndhiwa Center, Nyakwere Center & adjacent customers.
