Creatives Garage, in collaboration with the Blooms in the Dark podcast, is set to present a unique event designed for singles and anyone navigating the challenges of heartbreak.
The event offers a blend of music and storytelling, capturing the raw emotions of heartache and guiding attendees through a journey of healing.
The event dubbed ‘Songs to Heal a Broken Heart’ is adapted from an episode from the Blooms in the Dark podcast.
This podcast series, produced by Creatives Garage and curated by Thayù in collaboration with other creatives, features fictional stories that mirror real-life struggles related to gender identity, sexual orientation, and acceptance.
The evening will feature live narrations by renowned Kenyan actress Muthoni Gathecha, whose credits include films like Rafiki, Sincerely Daisy, Shimoni, and TV Shows such as Pray & Prey, and Country Queen.
Gathecha will bring to life tales of heartbreak and the process of rebuilding after emotional loss.
Accompanying her narration will be musical performances by Zaituni Wambui and Anariko.
Zaituni, a talented singer-songwriter known for her vibrant urban Taarab style, will use her voice to complement the storytelling.
Anariko, a multi-instrumentalist music composer/producer, will provide soulful guitar melodies to elevate the emotional impact of the event.
This unique event will take place on October 16 at the Nairobi Street Kitchen.
In addition to the performances, the event will mark the official launch of Season 3 of the Blooms in the Dark podcast.
