Fatxo was nominated for the award in February and made a post asking his fans to vote for him.

According to E360 Entertainment, the sponsors of E360 Awards, the awards are meant to recognise Kenyan artists from all walks of life and promote Kenyan content.

“E360 gives artists from all over the country to get nominated and voted for, by their fans. It’s an open process where individuals get a chance to both online and offline and have their efforts recognized and awarded. The process is open, free and fair for everybody. Both established and upcoming.”

Other winners include Meshack Mwengei who was the most voted male artist, Phelix Owiny (Male Model of the Year), Joseph Sonko Jnr (Differently Abled of the Year), Fred Muyanga (Gospel Artist of the Year) and Sarafina Salim (Female Mugithi Artist of the Year).

On the night he died, Mwathi had visited DJ Fatxo’s house to deliver some interior decor materials for his home and office.

A police statement recorded by the DJ revealed that the two had been together in four different clubs before returning to the singer’s apartment at around 3:00 am on February 22.

In a police statement, DJ Fatxo and two other witnesses claimed that Mwathi jumped from the 10th floor to the hard concrete ground.

The mysterious death of Mwathi drew public interest with members of parliament recently calling for the exhumation of the body for DNA tests to be conducted to aid in the identification and arrest of key suspects.

The agency, in a statement, said phase one of the probe had been completed.

“The process included interviewing of the first cluster of witnesses in the case, forensic examination of the scene, and retrieval of CCTV footage that captured the deceased’s last moments.

“Several other Forensic experts based at the DCI National Forensic Laboratory who are augmenting the H******e team have equally collected crucial evidence and the same is being analyzed scientifically.

“We are now progressing to the second phase of the investigations where several persons of interest in the case will be interrogated and appropriate recommendations made before being forwarded to the Director of Public Prosecutions for action,” DCI said.
