A man in Nairobi was distressed after a gang posing as police officers robbed him of his cash.
Police say the three men ambushed the victim identified as Stanley Kiarie as he was waiting to board a matatu to Kamende.
At the time, the trio dressed in police attire claimed to be officers and arrested him for possessing bhang. Shortly as they were walking, the ‘officers’ planted rolls of bhang into his pockets.
They also demanded Ksh20,000 for his release, stole Ksh2,000 from his pockets and forced him to withdraw Ksh6,000 from his Mpesa.
Out of the money they took, they gave him Ksh500 as transport money before disappearing.
The police have since vowed to investigate the matter and bring the culprits to book.
